Toni

January 29, 2020

Toni is a nursing student from the University of New England who attended Recovery Camp in January, 2020.

I didn’t know what to expect when I came to camp as I haven’t worked in mental health. This experience has given me an amazing firsthand experience at talking to consumers who suffer from mental health disorders, the daily struggles they may face and the support network they have.

I would highly recommend Recovery Camp as a mental health
placement as the consumers are in a more relaxed atmosphere and are more than
happy to discuss their illness, whereas in a clinical setting I feel you would
not get a firsthand experience into mental health.

The camp facilitators are all trained mental health nurses that are always available and supportive.
